Shipnext, an online cargo platform, has secured a multi-year grant from Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship (VLAIO) to strengthen the adoption of predictive analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the supply chain. The grant will be used to develop a supply chain volatility forecast and a new algorithm that will make use of numerous freight matrices and data sources. Natural language processing, machine learning, big data analysis, and predictive analytics will be used in the project. Alexander Varvarenko, Founder and CEO of Shipnext, said that the project will help users accurately anticipate freight rates and demand for ships ahead of time.
