The Government of India recently released the draft National Deep Tech Startup Policy, 2023 (draft NDTSP) to enhance the deep-tech startup ecosystem in India. The policy was drafted after extensive consultation with end-users, investors, incubation centres, academia, and other stakeholders. Deep technology startups are businesses that deal in early-stage technologies based on scientific or engineering advancements that have not been developed yet for commercial applications. These startups are involved in producing solutions for unexplored sectors based on new knowledge within a scientific or engineering discipline or a combination of multiple disciplines.
