Researchers from ITMO’s ChemBio Cluster have developed a new method of synthesizing magnetic nanoparticles for cancer treatment and diagnostics. The method uses machine learning to quickly select the properties of nanoparticles for efficient MRI diagnostics and hyperthermia treatment, with a single nanoparticle taking just a few seconds to synthesize. Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide, and MRI scanning and hyperthermia are two methods used to treat and diagnose it. The new method could help improve the efficiency of cancer treatments.
