This article covers the 40th anniversary of the International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML) which is taking place in Honolulu, Hawaii. Experts in AI and ML from around the world have gathered to present and discuss state-of-the-art research concerning all facets of machine learning, such as AI, statistics, and data science. Two papers presented at the conference are ELSA: Efficient Label Shift Adaptation through the Lens of Semiparametric Models and Reward-Mixing MDPs with a Few Latent Contexts are Learnable. ELSA focuses on the problem of domain adaptation with label shift, while Reward-Mixing MDPs focuses on episodic reinforcement learning in a type of decision-making process.
