In 2016, it was revealed that Google’s image search results were biased towards white women when searching for professional hair styles and black women when searching for unprofessional hair styles. This is due to AI’s algorithmic systems copying the input data without regard to social and moral values, bias, racism, and the quality of the data. AI is also unable to understand the impact of hate speech on its victims and is confined to a range of specific problems to be solved. AI is also limited to probabilistic models that analyze incoming data to ascertain the likelihood of the most suitable answers.
