A majority of employers around the world are optimistic that emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, virtual/augmented reality (VR/AR), blockchain, and others, will not eliminate workers, but will instead create more jobs. According to The Future is Now: AI, the Metaverse, & the World of Work, from Experis, 78% of IT organizations are having difficulty hiring the talent they need with the skills they covet. Companies are either adopting or planning to adopt the use of emerging technologies in their recruiting processes, including AI, Conversational AI, Machine Learning, and VR. ManpowerGroup Chief Innovation Officer Jonas Prising believes that generative AI will mostly automate tasks and skills within jobs rather than entire jobs, freeing up time for more creative and intellectually sophisticated endeavors.
