In this interview, News Medical speaks to Brian Anthony, co-director of MIT’s Medical Electronic Device Realization Center, about the effect machine learning and sensor technologies have had on medical device engineering, as well as the Bioprocess Data Analytics and Machine Learning course he co-leads at MIT. Brian Anthony is a Principal Research Scientist at MIT’s Institute of Medical Engineering & Science and the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and is an expert in sensor systems and data analytics. He explains that there are many parallels between the medical needs and the use of machine learning and sensor technologies.
