Ren Wang, an Assistant Professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology, has been awarded a two-year grant from the National Science Foundation’s Computer and Information Science and Engineering Research Initiation Initiative (CRII). The grant will support Wang’s research project, which seeks to enhance the robustness of machine learning models by infusing key principles of the immune system into neural networks. This project has the potential to transform the landscape of machine learning by improving neural networks’ ability to defend against multifaceted perturbations.
