This work presents a novel application of Miura-origami fold in the field of vibration energy harvesting (VEH) and Internet of Things (IoT). A one-piece power generator based on the Miura-origami fold was developed and fabricated, and its output performances and characteristics were systematically measured. Additionally, a hexagonal electret generator (HEG) integrated with six-phase OPGs was developed and rigidly suspended on a simulated transmission line platform. The HEG was used to power a vibration sensing system and an information exchange system of transmission lines, and the signals were analyzed and recognized by neural network algorithms.
