Researchers at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, Argonne National Laboratory, and the University of Chicago have developed an algorithm that more precisely predicts the distribution of particle positions and velocities of a particle beam as it moves through an accelerator. This algorithm combines classical beam physics equations with machine-learning techniques to reduce the need for extensive data processing, allowing scientists to perform experiments more reliably.
