The Nigeria Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) has begun deploying AI and machine learning tools to assist in its operations and conform to the federal government’s policy of a paperless working office environment. The move will strengthen the unit’s technology platforms and support information sharing with competent authorities and states. The NFIU also plays a leading role in international partnerships to combat trans-national serious crime, including terrorism financing.
