Geoffrey Hinton, the “godfather of AI”, has joined the advisory board of CuspAI, a startup developing a search engine to discover new materials to help tackle climate change. The platform uses AI to generate potential chemical compositions with desired properties, such as the ability to bind carbon dioxide. Hinton sees the potential for AI to solve urgent global challenges like climate change.
