Gregory D. Hager, a renowned A.I. expert, has been selected as the head of the Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering at the U.S. National Science Foundation. With a background in artificial intelligence and machine learning, Hager’s research has focused on activity recognition, robotics, and medical applications. He is also known for his work on the “language of surgery” and has been involved in the founding of four startups.
