John Lagergren is using his expertise in applied math and machine learning to develop neural networks that can quickly analyze vast amounts of data on plant traits. This work is being done at Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Advanced Plant Phenotyping Laboratory, and has the potential to greatly advance the development of hardy crops for various purposes.
