Snowflake Inc. is in talks to acquire startup Reka AI for more than $1 billion, expanding its generative AI capabilities. Reka AI specializes in large language models and was founded by researchers from Google and Meta Platforms Inc. Snowflake sees generative AI as an accelerant to its business and has already released its own large language model, Arctic. The talks may not result in a deal and Snowflake’s CEO, Sridhar Ramaswamy, joined the company last year after it acquired Neeva, an AI-powered search engine.
