Google Reveals Its 6th-gen ‘trillium’ Tpus At I/o

Google has announced its sixth tensor processing unit (TPU) called Trillium, which is designed to support larger language and recommender models. Trillium boasts a 4.7x increase in peak compute performance and has doubled the interchip interconnect bandwidth. The chip also features Google’s third-gen SparseCore for processing large embeddings and has a doubling of bandwidth and capacity.
