Artificial Intelligence (AI) was the most consequential technology of 2023 and is expected to become even more deeply embedded in organizations in 2024. AI-driven tools such as generative AI have been used in activities such as photo-taking, editing and audio activities, as well as Web 3.0 efforts, immersive experiences and augmented reality. Companies are investing in automations and intelligent systems to drive down cost, cover employee gaps, forecast demand and offer personalization for customers. AI-created product or marketing copy, photo shoots, review summaries, customer service bots, recommendations and more are being developed by major platforms and smaller ones. Technical terms like “large language models” are entering the mainstream lexicon, and tech vendors are aiming to make the benefits of AI and machine learning available to any customer.
