Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a highly sought-after technology for businesses, promising to increase productivity and transform the way white-collar work is done. However, the cost, need for specialized talent, and legal and privacy risks have made many businesses hesitant to move beyond early experimentation. Despite this, some businesses have already begun to incorporate AI into their operations, such as writing code, creating marketing and sales content, and bolstering customer support. International Data Corp. estimates that enterprises will have spent around $19.4 billion on generative AI solutions by the end of 2023, and this spending is expected to reach $151.1 billion by 2027. Five companies have already figured out how to integrate generative AI into their products and operations, and this article looks at what they have learned in the process.
