OpenAI, the company behind the viral chatbot ChatGPT, has announced the release of GPT-4, a multimodal platform that can accept image and text inputs and emit text outputs. GPT stands for generative pre-trained transformer which is a type of large language model (LLM) neural network. GPT-3 was initially released in 2020 and was trained on an impressive 175 billion parameters. GPT-4 is the successor to GPT-3 and can process up to 25,000 words, process images, and handle much more nuanced inputs.
