Dell Thinks Generative Ai Will Generate Storage Sales

Dell executives presented to financial analysts at an “Ask the Experts” Q&A event and discussed the potential of generative AI to increase the current $30 billion AI total addressable market (TAM). Generative AI comes in two broad flavors: massive scale multi-functional models and domain and enterprise-specific models. Dell believes that generative AI could be as transformative as server virtualization and drive increased compute, network and storage sales. Generative AI models will need to be fed with data from both structured and unstructured data sources, and will require more memory, networking, storage, and flash storage.
