The Databricks Data+AI Summit attracted a large audience and focused on large language models, unification and bringing AI to the data. Snowflake Inc. and Databricks Inc. are attacking the problem from different perspectives, with Snowflake likely years ahead in terms of operationalizing data and Databricks likely having a similar lead in terms of unifying all types of analytic data. This Breaking Analysis follows up last week’s research by connecting the dots on the emerging tech stack from Databricks, with an emphasis on generative AI, unification and governance. The keynote from Chief Executive Ali Ghodsi was very strong and other co-founders got some good air time.
