Amazon’s cloud unit announced a $100 million center to help companies use generative AI, the technology that has taken off in the months since OpenAI launched its ChatGPT chatbot to the public. The center will add data scientists, engineers and solution architects to the payroll and is already working with Highspot, Twilio, RyanAir and Lonely Planet. Amazon, Microsoft and Google are all competing in the generative AI space, with Microsoft spending billions in a multi-layered alliance with OpenAI and Google rolling out homegrown AI tools. Amazon CEO Adam Selipsky said the company has succeeded by listening to customers and is not worried about the competition.
