Geoffrey Hinton, a British scientist, recently resigned from Google after more than a decade of employment. In an interview with the MIT Technology Review, Hinton stated that he left Google to be able to talk about the dangers of AI without considering how it impacts Google and that he had changed his mind about the relationship between the brain and the kind of digital intelligence being developed. He believes that computer models are working in a completely different way than the brain, using back propagation, which he developed, to train computers to develop its “reasoning” ability.
