Researchers from the University of Maryland recently conducted a study that demonstrated how certain neural networks can be used to describe a large portion of quantum systems. Dongling Deng, a JQI Postdoctoral Fellow and member of the Condensed Matter Theory Center (CMTC), believes that researchers would benefit from the descriptions neural networks provide if using computers to study quantum systems. This study is an example of how modern technology is embracing artificial intelligence and machine learning to create useful tools and techniques.
