This study quantified known and novel biomarkers for atrial fibrillation (AF) in a cohort of multi-ethnic patients with cardiovascular conditions. A modified Delphi process was used to identify 12 candidate biomarkers for AF, including ANGPT2, BMP10, CA125, CRP, ESM1, FABP3, GDF15, Haptoglobin, NT-proBNP, PAPP-A, TGF-β1, and VEGF. Statistical modelling and machine learning techniques were used to identify biomarkers that enhance detection of unknown prevalent AF.
