Canonical has committed to implementing support for NVIDIA smart NICs in their products, including their metal-as-a-service (MAAS) which enables the management and control of these cards on bare-metal servers. The NVIDIA BlueField smart NICs provide advanced software-defined data centre infrastructure services and can accelerate network functions, hardware offloading, and isolation for innovative use cases. Canonical is excited about the addition of the BlueField-3 DPU to NVIDIA’s Spectrum-X AI Cloud reference architecture and offers extensive software support for this hardware.
