Mbzuai Looks To Ai-powered Solutions For Extreme Weather Events Following Recent Flooding In Gulf Region

MBZUAI researchers are using AI and computer vision techniques to create an automated satellite data analysis prototype for flood assessment in urban areas, with the goal of helping local municipalities and authorities better respond to extreme weather events due to climate change. The model currently relies on AI models and publicly available data, and has been tested in three localized case studies in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Oman.
