The demand for specialized computer chips for AI systems has led big tech companies like Amazon, Google, and Microsoft to invest in building their own chips, in order to reduce costs and eliminate shortages. This move also allows them to compete with chipmaker Nvidia, while still maintaining a working relationship with the company and its CEO, Jensen Huang.
