Wes Ramage, a 43 year old with optic nerve hypoplasia, has been using Google Glass with the help of Envision, a Netherlands-based company, to help him explore his surroundings. The glasses are connected to a large language model and when he gives a voice command, such as “describe scene”, the camera embedded in the glasses takes a picture and sends it to an AI model which interprets the scene and reads the description aloud. This technology has become invaluable to Mr. Ramage, allowing him to explore his surroundings with ease.
