Optical contactless methods can be used for inspecting the power board modules and are a crucial step in the manufacturing process of electronic systems. With the development of image processing methods and machine learning, the automation of these processes through visual inspection is becoming more popular. Deep neural networks, such as convolutional neural networks, are being used in this field. YOLOv8 is a state-of-the-art method for automated visual inspection of PCBs, and Adibhatla et al. proposed a deep learning model based on Tiny-YOLOv2 architecture for PCB quality inspection. Image subtraction and template-matching are also used for this task.
