This article discusses the use of c-Si solar cells for powering IoT and edge computing systems in indoor environments. A few-sizes-fits-all approach was adopted to use c-Si cells under various light conditions, and 3D-structured PVs were found to be useful for indoor, highly diffused light due to their increased surface area. It was demonstrated that a block-type c-Si solar cell array less than 200 cm2 could be operated under ~600 lx and less than 100 cm2 under ~1700 lx.
