Google’s Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are the first smartphones to leverage generative AI, with features such as a chatbot that can take calls and an upcoming “zoom in and enhance” photo mode. The phones have incremental hardware upgrades, but the software promises big leaps in AI technology. Internally, the Pixel 8 Pro is largely the same phone as the Pixel 7 Pro, with an improved ultrawide lens, a 50-megapixel main lens, a 48-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 10.5-megapixel selfie lens. The Pixel 8 Pro’s 6.7 inch display is similar to the Pixel 7 Pro’s, with a slightly reduced resolution and a wider, 20:9 aspect ratio.
