EdgeCortix, a Japanese venture capital (VC) firm, has recently received funding from SBI Investment and Global Hands-On VC (GHOVC), as well as an investment from Renesas Electronics. The funds will be used to develop the next generation of SAKURA hardware products, while expanding its business by growing its global sales and marketing capabilities. EdgeCortix has brought three products to market, including MERA, DNA, and the SAKURA AI co-processor device. These products form an integrated platform that is especially suited for real-time AI applications with streaming data. EdgeCortix was founded by CEO Dr. Sakyasingha Dasgupta to develop an edge AI-focused processor with a software-first approach.
