Computer vision algorithms are increasingly being used in microfluidic cell analysis to help researchers analyze the large amounts of data produced. Traditional computer vision techniques have been used for decades in cell characterization and remain a valuable tool for analyzing cell images. Microfluidic chips offer a microfabricated detection region with fine-tuned geometrical properties and enable the precise control and manipulation of fluids at the microscale level. This allows for the acquisition of high-quality images of individual cells and for the extraction of detailed information of spatial and temporal features.
