Last week, Apple made it clear that AI was behind many of the features in their forthcoming hardware and software. iOS 17 will feature an upgraded autocorrect powered by an AI model, a new interactive diary that makes personalized suggestions, and a feature that can suggest recipes for similar dishes from an iPhone photo using computer vision. Apple’s Vision Pro augmented reality headset also uses machine learning to create a virtual avatar of the wearer. Apple’s intention was to show that it is not one to be underestimated after years of floundering machine learning projects.
