Olga Chukhno’s doctoral thesis explores ways to enhance dynamic social awareness in networks beyond 5G. She presents key advancements, including a reference architecture for orchestrating Social Digital Twins (SDTs) at the network edge to speed up service discovery in the Social Internet of Things (SIoT); a method to assess the performance of highly dynamic systems by combining communication and computing resources; and valuable insights for designing future beyond 5G networks with digital twin capabilities. The study also investigates the optimal intervals for re-optimizing SDT deployment at the network edge and presents a performance evaluation methodology for eXtended Reality (XR) services in edge computing.
