This article discusses the limitations of deep learning and artificial intelligence (AI) when it comes to visual recognition. Despite the power and promise of deep learning, computers have yet to master human calculations and the communication and connection found between the body and the brain. A study led by Marieke Mur, a neuroimaging expert at Western University in Canada, found that deep neural networks are far from perfect when it comes to visual recognition.
