M3GAN is a robotic prototype doll created by roboticist Gemma, designed to be a child’s best friend and a helping hand to parents. In the film, Gemma pairs her M3GAN prototype with her orphaned 8-year-old niece Cady, with unfortunate results. The plot of this film is similar to Chucky, but it is the ‘uncanny valley’ that is most intriguing.
