Dallas billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban and radiologist Dr. Oshmyansky co-founded the Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company with the aim of reducing the cost of prescription drugs. In January 2022, they achieved their first goal of launching an online pharmacy that offers generic drugs directly to consumers on a cash-pay basis. Nanoscope Therapeutics, a biotech company led by Sulagna Bhattacharya, is working on a single-injection gene therapy to restore “meaningful vision” in blind patients with retinitis pigmentosa.
