Sensor Cortek, an Ottawa-based software company, is working to solve one of Canada’s biggest roadblocks to autonomous vehicle adoption: snow. Snow can be difficult for sensors to detect, making it more difficult to train self-driving vehicle software and algorithms. The company equips cars with sensors and has drivers take them out on the roads during major snowfalls to collect data.
