The federal government has given approval for the use of Omeife, a female-looking humanoid robot developed by the Uniccon Group of Companies, to advance digital literacy in Nigeria. Omeife is programmed to speak multiple languages and falls within Nigeria’s local content vision and policy on digital strategy. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo unveiled Omeife to a global audience last year, expressing the government’s commitment to harnessing the talents of Nigerian youths in the area of Artificial Intelligence for national development.
