Char is the theme for the 2023 season of the premier international robotics competition for kids 14 to 18, sponsored by For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST). Teams receive a kit of parts, limited time and resources, and specific rules for building an industrial-size robot capable of competing against other machines. The competition culminates in April’s world championship in Houston.
