The COVID-19 pandemic has forced universities to rethink their assessment processes, leading to an increase in the use of software such as Turnitin and Proctorio. However, universities have not taken this opportunity to reflect on the purpose of higher education and how assessment can be used to improve it. Instead, they have reverted back to the status quo once lockdown orders were lifted.
