Researchers are using machine learning, a branch of artificial intelligence, to analyze data from the brain and apply this knowledge in clinical settings. At Neuroscience 2023, the annual meeting of the Society for Neuroscience, new findings will be presented that show how machine learning can be used to identify activity between the thalamus and motor-related regions, predict progression from mild cognitive impairment to Alzheimer’s disease, interpret light signals from the retina, and optimize deep brain stimulation for treatment of dystonia in children.
