Monkey Room is a graphic novel written by an AI expert about a researcher who uses AI technologies to connect vast populations of humans into a unified superintelligence. The book serves as a cautionary tale, warning that the human race could be turned into a mindless factory for generating random thoughts that is vacuumed up by a super-intelligent AI. Now, more than a decade later, AI technologies such as ChatGPT and LaMD are being developed to emulate human thinking while lacking any human values, morals, emotions or sensibilities.
