Researchers Find Artificial Intelligence Approach May Help Detect Alzheimer’s Disease From Routine Brain Imaging Tests

A team of researchers from Massachusetts General Hospital has developed an accurate method for detecting Alzheimer’s disease using routinely collected clinical brain images. The advance, which is based on deep learning and machine learning algorithms, could lead to more accurate diagnoses. The study, which is published in PLOS ONE, used data from brain magnetic resonance images collected from patients with and without Alzheimer’s disease.
