Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s James Hendler is the Director of the Future of Computing Institute and the Tetherless World Professor of Computer, Web and Cognitive Sciences. He is also the Director of the RPI-IBM Artificial Intelligence Research Collaboration. He recently discussed the technology of ChatGPT, which is a sophisticated AI model that predicts the next word a user will type in a text. However, the AI community is still working on understanding when to trust models like this. RPI is part of a project that is crowdsourcing reports of ChatGPT errors.
