Team Chiron, a team of researchers from Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh, is developing noninvasive, remote-detection systems for injury assessment using robotics, artificial intelligence, drones, and advanced sensing. They are participating in the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency’s (DARPA) Triage Challenge, which aims to push advancements in medical triage. The team will use aerial drones and ground robots equipped with sensors to evaluate the severity of injuries in a mass casualty event.
