Airbus UpNext, a subsidiary of Airbus, is testing new technologies to improve aircraft navigation systems and enhance pilot assistance. The three-year project, named Optimate, will use automation, computer vision, data fusion, and machine learning to develop automatic taxiing and a virtual flight assistant. The project aims to increase flight safety and reduce CO₂ emissions.
