Apple is exploring the potential of personal robotics, with teams working on a mobile robot and a tabletop home device. The company is under pressure to find new sources of revenue and could use advances in artificial intelligence to gain a foothold in consumers’ homes. The robotics work is being done within Apple’s hardware engineering and AI and machine-learning divisions, but the projects are still in the early research phase.
